On the 6th of June 1810 an event occurred that was, arguably, the most significant single event in the history of Glover, Vermont, perhaps of all Orleans County. Men and boys set off with shovels to increase the flow of a millstream, but quickly became actors in a much larger drama. June 6, 2010 is the bicentennial. I propose to live by the shores of Runaway Pond for the next few months and attempt to view if from many angles and seasons.
